Why we built IRIS
Every unanswered ring is a resident left waiting, or a lease that goes elsewhere.
A broken AC, a leasing question, someone locked out. Office teams juggle tours, move-ins and vendors while the phone keeps ringing, and after hours most calls go to voicemail.
IRIS picks up every call, resolves what it reasonably can, and gets callers the right next step by text, without adding headcount or asking your team to change how they work.
The name
In Greek myth, Iris was the messenger between gods and mortals, the bridge between two worlds.
That’s the role we want IRIS to play: a steady, reliable link between residents and the teams who manage where they live.

Mike Woodfield
CEO
Mike is co-owner of Obsidian Capital Co., where he leads operations across a multifamily portfolio in Texas and beyond. He has worked on the acquisition, renovation and day-to-day running of more than 1,000 apartment units, and knows firsthand what a missed call costs a property.
Josh Burton
President
Josh helped build IRIS and runs it day to day, from the product to onboarding every property. Since May 2026, IRIS has answered more than 3,400 calls across 7 apartment communities. Before IRIS, he supported asset management for 16 multifamily properties at Obsidian Capital and grew his own service business to more than 150 clients. He’s also fluent in Spanish.

Glenn has spent 30+ years in multifamily, working his way from maintenance tech to owning more than 4,500 apartment units. A Certified Property Manager (CPM), he is co-owner and CEO of Obsidian Capital Co. and author of Maintenance Man to Millionaire.
